Foil Printing For Fabric

Foil printing is a special kind of printing procedure where heat, pressure, and a metallic paper (foil) is used to create different shiny designs and graphics on various materials.Foil stamping gives the stamped design a shiny and incredible look and is increasingly becoming the preferred method of printing in many an industry.

In the foil stamping process, the die or the sculpted metal plate comes in contact with the foil and transfers a thin layer of the foil film onto the intended surface. As the metal plate is heated, the foil sticks to the surface only in the design of the plate and in the required areas with the desired imprints

Foil printing is to print some pattern with the foil on the fabric for shiny effect. There are two kind of foil printing method. In the first method, the pattern is printed by a foil transfer adhesive on the fabric, and then pressed with foil paper by hot steel roller. The pressure is generally 5-6 bar on printed portion and at 190 degree Celcius on fusing machine for 8-12 seconds.

In foil printing, the quality of the adhesive is very important. Generally it is made up of acrylic co-polymer with water as diluent. Cheaper qualities show very poor stretch, loss of softness and smoothness after five washes and look very unlike the original print. The foil should not stick to cured inks under pressure. Normally a matting agent is added to avoid sticking.

In the second method, printing is done on the foil paper first, and then foil is pressed on the fabric with hot steel roller or iron.

Foil paper is called the stamping foil paper. Actually it is not the paper but the detachable foil film on the plastic base. Generally it is PET film of 15 micron thickness, available in widths of 640 or 1500mm

Foil Printing In Textile Industry

As a textile manufacturer, chances are high you’re a foil printing enthusiast. We’re with you on that foil printing process. Foil printing on fabric is one of the old technique in the textile industry as it brings more flexibility and more speed. Those are all welcome advantages, given the high customer demands and a large variety of designs produced daily.

What is Foil Printing?

Foil printing is the process of applying designs to the fabric in definite patterns. In properly foil printing the color is bonded with the fiber, so as to resist washing and friction. Textile printing is related to dyeing but, whereas in dyeing proper the whole fabric is uniformly covered with one color. But in foil printing in one or more colors are applied to it in certain parts only and in sharply defined patterns.

In foil printing process heat, pressure and metallic paper are used to printing. This is used to create different shiny designs and graphics on fabrics. Foil printing gives the focus area an incredible look and is quickly becoming the preferred method of printing in the textile industry.

How it’s done

Actually foil printing is the process of transferring foil from a paper roll onto a fabric using heat and adhesives.Foil printing on fabric is a great way of adding shine and luster to a product. We love how designers have used foil printing in so many creative ways from adding a classy baroque look to a table runner to adding fun and bling to a cushion cover.

Today, there are a range of foil papers available in market. Metallic like gold, silver and copper and regular colours that can give our material a royal and shiny makeover.

You can view some of our textile foils right here.

For bulk manufacturing, rotary screen foil printing is commonly used.

Initially, a rotary screen is made using the design that needs to be printed. This screen is then used along with the foil paper, heat and adhesives to transfer the foil onto the fabric. The cost of making the screen is much more expensive for foil printing that it is for regular rotary or flatbed printing – this makes sampling or customised short runs more difficult to do.

Keyhole Surgery for Heartburn

This webpage will give you information about Keyhole Surgery for Heartburn.

What is acid reflux?

Acid reflux is a condition where acid from the stomach travels up into the oesophagus (gullet). This happens if the valve between the stomach and the oesophagus does not work effectively. Acid reflux can cause ‘heartburn’ or acid in the back of the mouth.

What are the benefits of Keyhole surgery?

Keyhole surgery, or minimally invasive surgery, is a surgical method used to access the interior of the body through a small incision, removing the need for open surgery. Keyhole surgery is most commonly used to access the abdomen and the female pelvic organs in a procedure known as a laparoscopy.Surgery is aimed at curing the symptoms of acid reflux.

Are there any alternatives to surgery?

Drugs that lower the acid content in the stomach are effective at controlling symptoms and healing inflammation.

Surgery is only recommended if the symptoms continue or if you feel that you would prefer not to stay on medication.

What does the operation involve?

The operation is performed under a general anaesthetic and usually takes between one and two hours.

Your surgeon will usually use the laparoscopic technique. Your surgeon will make several small cuts on your abdomen. They will place surgical instruments, along with a telescope, inside your abdomen and perform the operation .

Technique for Laparoscopic Surgery

Your surgeon will stitch the diaphragm to reduce the size of the hole the oesophagus passes through. They will then wrap and stitch the top part of the stomach around the lower oesophagus.

Your surgeon can wrap the stomach all the way round the oesophagus or just part-way round.

What complications can happen?

General complications:-

Pain

Bleeding

Infection in the surgical site (wound)

Unsightly scarring

Developing a hernia in the scar

Blood clots

Specific complications:-

Damage to internal organs

Developing a hernia near one of the cuts

Surgical emphysema

Difficulty swallowing

Air in the chest cavity

Making a hole in the oesophagus or stomach

Tear of the stitches used for the wrap

Damage to the liver

Long-term problems

Incomplete control of reflux symptoms

Weight loss

Abdominal discomfort

Diarrhoea

How soon will I recover?

You should be able to go home within a few days.

You should be able to return to work after three to four weeks but this may vary depending on the extent of surgery and your type of work.

Regular exercise should help you to return to normal activities as soon as possible. Before you start exercising, you should ask a member of the healthcare team or your GP for advice.

You should make a full recovery, with the symptoms of acid reflux gone or much improved.

Summary

Acid reflux can cause heartburn or acid in the mouth. The acid can cause the lining of the oesophagus to become inflamed or scarred. Surgery may be recommended if your symptoms continue while you are on medication.

Colorectal Cancer Surgery

Definition and Overview

Colorectal surgery is a term that refers to various surgical procedures performed on the colon, anus, and rectum. Medical professionals performing such procedures are known as proctologists or colorectal surgeons.

When is Colorectal surgery required?

The Colorectal surgeons treat various disorders such as anal fissures (abnormal tears or cracks in the patient’s anus), birth defects in the anus or colon, swelling and inflammation of veins in the rectum (also known as hemorrhoids), anorectal fistulas (passageways that connect different parts of the anorectal area to the surface of the skin), faecal incontinence, colon and rectal cancers, anal or rectal prolapse, diverticular disease, diverticulitis, imperforate anus and other birth defects, Crohn’s disease and other severe colic disorders, and anal cancer.

Where are Colorectal procedures applied?

There are various techniques used in performing Colorectal surgery. These are:-

Colectomy- It is the surgical resectioning of the colon or the large intestine. This procedure can also involve the removal of the entire large intestine and the rectum.

Strictureplasty- It is another colorectal surgical procedure, which removes scar tissues that have grown on the patient’s intestinal walls, usually as a result of bowel inflammation (in severe colic disorders such as Crohn’s disease).

Other surgical procedures include lateral internal sphincterotomy, transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM), bowel diversion surgery, rubber band ligation, abdominoperineal resection, haemorrhoidectomy, anoplasty, polypectomy and colostomy.

Modern surgical techniques for colorectal issues include laparoscopic surgery, which is minimally invasive and requires less downtime for the patient. Robotic surgery is also fast becoming an ideal option for many patients; it is more precise and can access previously difficult to reach areas such as in the case of rectal cancers.

Colorectal surgery can also involve various diagnostic procedures such as colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, defecating proctography, and proctoscopy.

Laparoscopic surgery

Have you heard about “minimally invasive” surgery? Laparoscopic surgery is one of a kind. Doctors use it for gallbladder surgery and gynecology operations. Then it came into play for the intestines, liver, and many other organs.

Laparoscopy which is also known as diagnostic laparoscopy, is a surgical diagnostic procedure used to examine the organs inside the abdomen. It’s a low-risk, minimally invasive procedure that requires only small incisions.

Hence, to be precise a Laparoscopy is the type of surgery that uses smaller cuts than other surgeries done for the similar organ or body part.

The process takes its name from the laparoscope, a slender tool that has a tiny video camera and light on the end. When a surgeon inserts it through a small cut and into your body, they can look at a video monitor and see what’s happening inside you. Without those tools, they’d have to make a much larger opening. Thanks to special instruments, your surgeon won’t have to reach into your body, either. That also means less cutting.

Why was it needed?

Before this system came along, a surgeon who operated on his patients belly had to make a cut that was 6-to-12 inches long which gave them enough room to see what they were doing and reach whatever they had to work on.

How is it done?

In laparoscopic surgery, the surgeon makes several small cuts. Usually, each one is no more than a half-inch long. (That’s why it’s sometimes called keyhole surgery.) They insert a tube through each opening, and the camera and surgical instruments go through those. Then the surgeon does the operation.

The instrument used in Laparoscopy is called a laparoscope which helps to look at the abdominal organs. A laparoscope is a long, thin tube with a high-intensity light and a high-resolution camera at the front. The instrument is inserted through an incision in the abdominal wall. As it moves along, the camera sends images to a video monitor.

How does it help in diagnosis?

Laparoscopy allows your doctor to see inside your body in real time, without open surgery. Your doctor also can obtain biopsy samples during this procedure.

Where is laparoscopy performed?

Laparoscopy is often used to identify and diagnose the source of pelvic or abdominal pain. It’s usually performed when non-invasive methods are unable to help with diagnosis.

When is Laparoscopy required?

In many cases, abdominal problems can also be diagnosed with imaging techniques such as:

Ultrasound- It uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the body

CT scan- It is a series of special X-rays that take cross-sectional images of the body.

MRI scan- It uses magnets and radio waves to produce images of the body.

Laparoscopy is performed when these tests don’t provide enough information or insight for a diagnosis. The procedure may also be used to take a biopsy, or sample of tissue, from a particular organ in the abdomen.

Heat, pressure, metal dies and foil film are used in Foil stamping printing process. If you have the right equipment then, this process may be simple, you can directly apply foil printing to clothes. The foil is first of all printing and cut using special glue and a press. Then, the colored foil is stuck to the fabric using a heat press.

What color foil is available?
There are wide varieties of colors and designs are available in the market. Commonly used colors are gold and silver, but there are lots of other options are available.

You can choose the color and patterns. Foil is also available in different shades like shiny and matte. If you’re looking for a custom color, those are available too. In our warehouse also provide rainbow color foil too.
